Updated CEEQUAL Handbook and Manual released

We are pleased to announce that updated versions of the CEEQUAL Scheme Description & Assessment Process Handbook and the CEEQUAL Assessment Manual for Projects – designated Version 4.1 – have been finalised and are now available to download.

If you are a CEEQUAL Assessor or Verifier, you can access the new files on your portal. Otherwise please feel free to download the updated versions from the CEEQUAL website by clicking here.

The main update in the Handbook is to change all references to the scoring spreadsheet to the new On-line Assessment Tool that is being rolled out at the moment. We have also taken another step in strengthening the link between CEEQUAL and the sustainability agenda by adopting our new byline: ‘the Assessment and Awards Scheme for improving sustainability in civil engineering and public realm projects’ throughout the documentation.

Version 4.1 of the Manual includes a range of updates, clarifications and additional guidance, but the question set and scoring remains as with Version 4 – except for Question 4.3.1, where the clarification involved a re-organisation of the progressive scoring, but without affecting the original maximum score.

In addition we have highlighted in the relevant evidence boxes those questions where a failure to score against the question may impact the final Award grade if there has been a legal non-compliance.

We have also taken the opportunity to stress that CEEQUAL’s Projects Version 4.1 is applicable to assessments in Ireland as well as the UK. Version 4 was already expressly prepared for use in this way, but following recent discussions with prospective users in Ireland, and in anticipation of the coming development of an international version, we have now decided to highlight the geographical applicability on the cover.
