Project summary

The Tanners Hill project is a key part of the Thameslink KO2 programme and is required to allow more trains to join and leave the Up and Down Fast via Tanners Hill Junction when the new final Railway Systems layout either side of London Bridge Station has been commissioned. It will also allow the regulation of trains during the construction period.

The new layout will support the future capacity requirements of KO2, which is to run 24 trains per hour in the Thameslink core area. Tanners Hill is an integral part of the overall Thameslink Programme and was completed and operational prior to commencing with the other works in the London Bridge area.
