About the Project

The A477 St Clears to Red Roses Improvement Truck Road forms part of a Trans-European Road network that links mainland Europe with West Wales and Ireland, via the ferry port at Pembroke Dock. This 9.6Km Welsh Government road project provides improved overtaking opportunities using a single 2+1 road arrangement to improve reliability, journey times and safety for road users.

This exemplary project, short listed by Construction Excellence Wales for an “Integration and Collaborative Working” award, also received a sliver award from the Considerate Constructor Scheme at the 2014 national awards ceremony in London.

To what extent did the use of CEEQUAL influence your project?

A collaborative approach from all parties ensured that sustainability considerations were integrated into all project decision making. Through registration with the CEEQUAL Scheme, the Team ensured that sustainable construction was carried out at all Stages of the Project Lifecycle, resulting in the Project being in line for an “Excellent” Whole Scheme award.
