The project
Funded by the Department for Social Development, the project is expected to aid and assist in the regeneration of the Newtownards Road area of East Belfast. The final project will total approximately £1.5 million.
The environmental improvements will consist of footpath upgrading, road resurfacing, enhanced street lighting as well as tree planting and landscaping along the road.
The design for Newtownards Road was assessed against a wide range of criteria prior to handover to the contractor.
